You enjoy birdwatching. In Florida, why not try mosquito watching?
There are some 3,500 species of mosquitoes in the world, with around 90 species found in Florida. A few are pests, and some transmit pathogens that cause disease, while others feed primarily from wildlife. This poster, developed by entomologists at the UF/IFAS Florida Medical Entomology Lab, depicts the rich diversity of mosquito morphology. Fifty-two mosquito species are depicted, including 37 important species that occur in Florida. 11"x17"
